Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
DESCRIPTION:
Oregano is highly anti-microbial, specifically antibacterial. Used as a disinfectant for many common conditions, oregano is a main go-to oil in many households. Wellness Warrior recommends this product to be a must-have in your home pharmacy. This product is available in a 15 mL amber glass Euro bottle.
All Wellness Warrior essential oils are organic.
COMMON USES:
Because of its strong antibacterial properties, oregano is often used directly on the area of concern. This oil is a "hot" oil, meaning that it can easily injure skin tissue if applied topically without a carrier oil, which dilutes the oil to a safe concentration for topical use. Wellness Warrior recommends a dilution of no greater than 1% for this oil. In extreme cases, like fungal infections where the area of concern is in a moist area, special considerations may apply and once small areas of skin are tested for reaction, it may be necessary to apply this oil without a carrier oil, but please use caution. Oregano is also a common oil to be used in cooking. Simply dip a toothpick in the bottle, then swirl into your dish. Best to use after food is cooked and just prior to consumption.
PROPERTIES:
Analgesic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antitoxic.
